First time leading customers

Yesterday afternoon, Big Blue Diving had its monthly clean-up dive; customers get a free dive but they are then supposed to pick up trash from the bottom. We cleaned up Sairee reef, and I was appointed to lead four divers. This was the first time I tried leading a dive, and the area we cleaned up was not mapped. Yes there were corals for the first 10 minutes, but there were plain sand bottom for the last 35 minutes. I used my compass, and used my inner clock to take a big square (South+West+North+East). And to my own VERY big surprise, we ended up only 30 meters from the boat again; wow! Maybe I was lucky, or maybe I am slowly getting the hang of underwater navigation (which was one of my big worries before starting my education :-)
