Another day in Hanoi

Today, the sun has been shining which has increased the temperature considerably, to around 15 degrees. Wow. But I am still freezing. I have a hotel room with heating which is very rare around here (since MOST of the year it is warm). But restaurants do not have heating, so you sit there with 4 layers of clothes and you are still freezing. I do not want to buy a very warm jacket (even though cheap here). Since I will not need it again after I leave Hanoi in 5 days.
Vietnam is still a very socialistic state, which you can see from their flag, and from their quite ignorant behaviour when it comes to closing shops, restaurants, embassies etc for more than 1 week. Officially the new year is 3 days holiday only, but they not care about that at this time there is more tourists than ever here. They still close for 10 days. Well, there are still open places, but even Kentucky Fried Chicken has closed down one week (which is the only american restaurant I have seen here so far). No McDonalds, no Burger King etc. No 7-eleven which is on every street corner in Thailand. Amazing. But there are really many tourists here now. And I hear especially many Danish people here (I have long time ago decided that I not need to talk to people from Denmark just because they are also from Denmark).
