Back in Bangkok safely...

Yesterday I returned safely to Bangkok with Emirates Airline through Dubai. The only problem was that the Emirates airplane had a problem in Copenhagen Airport: The surveillance system for any fire in the luggage compartment was not working.

We were faced with two choices: Leave the aircraft and wait 24 hours for next flight or leave your luggage behind. They simply could not take off with any luggage (or cargo) in the luggage compartment.

During the long delay time in Cph, I managed to check with my insurance company (I have changed insurance every month or so when travelling, cheaper), but my current insurance DOES cover delayed luggage (if more than 5 hours delayed). With Around 1000 DKK/day.

So I decided to leave my luggage behind and go to Bangkok (I have learned from the past, so I always pack some underwear etc in my hand-luggage ;o).

So yesterday, after arriving around 12 noon in Bangkok and with only 2 hours of sleep during the 2 flights, I went shopping on the expense of the insurance company.... Just the basic stuff of course. But basic stuff is easily around 1000 DKK for one day!

Today, around 28 hours after my own arrival, I finally received my luggage. Delivered to my hotel.

Today's photos are not from Bangkok, but from my last days in my summer house where a tree suddenly decided to fall - ending up leaning towards a 'fence' which covers a part of the estate. Ok, the fence did not break immediately, but I am sure that with another later storm or similar it would create serious damage. So what else to do than cut the tree into small pieces? (which can in 1 or 2 years bring a lot of warmth in my summer house during winter time when put into the oven). You will also find some photos from my birth city, Fredericia.

In a few days, I am planning to go diving. Somewhere. I am checking airplane prices etc to figure out where, but Philippines may be a good guess ;o). I did not bring my diving equipment this time, so I will have to rent equipment every time, but maybe I go directly to China later for a full-time job, so I did not want to bring too much.

And of course, do not miss the great invention some friends of mine and me created for the Skanderborg music festival, now available on official video here.
