Today was the monthly clean-up day for Big Blue Diving. Which means every person interested gets a free dive to clean up a dive site or a snorkling site. We found e.g. a rain-boot and various other weird stuff dropped off by boats or by other divers or snorklers. An important thing is to not bring up things where aquatic life has already started 'using' the 'thing'; e.g. a bottle may be a perfect hide away for a small fish or shrimp, so everything (even though we may see it as 'garbage' may become an integral part of the aquatic life) has to be checked if it already has become a part of the underwater life. And corals may even easily grow on ropes etc which have dropped off from e.g. boats. So everything has to be investigated before bringing it up as garbage. This time, the clean up was made at 'Buddha Bay'; a small bay a few kilometres south from Big Blue Diving at Ko Tao.
