Yesterday I finished my Rescue Diver Course; two very hard days 'rescuing' people under water and in the surface. Giving mouth to mouth, learning to see 'errors' etc etc. Plus I had to get through a 2cm thick book at same time also. So from today, I am officially a 'DMT', or rather Dive Master Trainee. I will be a trainee for around 1-2 months, learning to navigate under water, swimming skills, rescue skills, planning skills etc, and learning to lead dives (being the one who leads other divers around a dive site). And hopefully learn to find the way back to the boat again. Plus a lot of theory and 'class training'. Plus a lot of hard work (Dive Master Trainees are usually used as the 'hard working force' also; carrying tanks and equipment to boats etc). Today I met all the other DMT's; by doing two afternoon dives to find a missing wreck and to help creating a 'sculpture' underwater. CORRECTION 22-FEB: In last minute I decided to go for becoming a 'Dive Con' instead; which is the similar (but slightly more extensive) education with the SSI diving organisation (which is competing with Padi, Padi is probably biggest in the world, but depends on countries etc). The price is the same, but with a Dive Con I cal also do some basic instruction work as well.
So, today, I am very, very tired, just waiting for my dinner to arrive in the restaurant :-)
Wishing you all the best at home with the still cold snow. I can certainly not complain here. The last days have been very hot.
