Today I passed my first theory presentation

Today, I first passed the Diving Physics exam (quite hairy stuff, actually, with several physics and gas laws that you needed to memorise). And a huge bunch of calculations. And keep in mind that it is quite some years ago that I last time studied Dalton's Law, Boyle's Law, Henry's Law etc . However, I had 90% correct which was pretty good.
This evening, I had to give a Theory presentation; on Lung Over-expansion Injuries (stuff that may happen if air leaks out of your over-expanded lungs when ascending and holding your breath at the same time). And I passed - with very good notes indeed (above the level of an Advanced Dive Instructor!). Most other 'students' use a whiteboard for this, but I tried that in my 'test round', and it was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone. So what to do? Use Powerpoint; and use animations with air bubbles floating around in the body, animated divers swimming, small dolphins flying in etc. So back in my comfort zone - and taking into account that PowerPoint is seen as almost high-tech around divers - I scored very good :-). I need to do 1 or 2 more of these theory presentations / lectures, but I was highly invited to keep my style (=PowerPoint), and so I will :-). The instructors are very hungry for these kind of 'interactive' presentations, so maybe I can contribute by slowly building up a library of these :-). For me it takes less time to do it in PowerPoint than write it on a whiteboard, so I am perfectly happy with this (actually, many instructors create their whiteboard again and again every time they get new students; there are only a limited number of whiteboards, so they keep being cleaned off).
So yet another great day in diving paradise, even though I didn't find time to do any diving today
