Welcome back to the tropes...

Today I arrived in Hurghada, Egypt, where I will stay for 1-2 weeks.
Even though that July in Denmark presented almost tropical temperatures, it is nice to be back on the road again. Denmark had the warmest July in decades and I really enjoyed my nice little summer cottage; and being with friends at e.g. the most beautiful music festival in Denmark! I have added some photos from my summer cottage, the Skanderborg Festival and a map where I am right now.

Hurghada is at the red sea, and around Hurghada there is almost nothing but desert. Beautiful view over the desert from the airplane while landing. Now arrived to my so-called luxury hotel. It can certainly be argued whether it is luxury. It is a hotel with 3 different buildings; one beach resort, one high-end hotel and then an 'Inn' - where I am staying. The room is pretty basic even compared to the price. But I will survive. I guess the price is 'high' since I can use the cool facilities of the 5 star hotel next to my pension. Including the swimming pool, the beach and everything. So the approach must be: Never stay in the humble room, but stay on the beach, diving in the water, relaxing at the pool or enjoying a (hopefully) good meal at some of the several restaurants around the place :-)

Now I am sitting in a restaurant / bar with free Wifi, drinking probably the worst gin-tonic I have had in my life. If that stuff in the drink is Gin, then Jagermeister is also a single malt Islay whisky!

Tomorrow I will find a dive center and go diving in the red sea; looking forward like a small child :-)
