From Middle East to Koh Tao, Thailand

I realized that my hotel (Delmon International) in Bahrain had a pool, but the pool was not heated and with around 20 degrees Celsius I didn’t want to go for a swim

I left Bahrain Thursday evening. Leaving one of the few countries I know where 1 liter of bottled water costs two times more than 1 liter of gasoline. And water was not expensive at all!
Flying with Gulf Air directly from Bahrain to Bangkok was very convenient. The chaotic situation before take-off was funny: people seem to almost totally ignore the seat reservations, so it took 20 minutes for the flight attendants to get people re-located to their correct seats. It seems that people think it is a bus :-).
In Bangkok, I had to get out through the long queues at the immigration, to check in to my onward to Koh Samui. Slightly hectic transfer in Bangkok. But quite funny shuttle busses taking people from the airplane to the terminal.

From Koh Samui I took a 3 hours boat and finally I arrived at my first (and only) fixed destination on my trip: Ko Tao.

The humidity and tiredness strikes a bit, especially when coming directly from skiing holiday, but it is great to be back in the warmth and the relaxed Thai atmosphere. And the beautiful beach view is amazing.
Tomorrow my diving will start, jubii! :-)
