Middle East stop-over

From Sofia Airport in Athens, I left my friends who were on an airplane back to Denmark. In the airport I threw away my out-worn but warm shoes and replaced them with light shoes. My ski-jacket will be donated to homeless people in Denmark thanks to one of my friends.

Shortly after saying goodbye to my friends, I took a bumpy flight to Athens in one of the famous Dash-8 Airplanes. However, I managed to see the beautiful mountains where we were skiing - from the airplane. Next step on my journey was Bahrain. Where I am staying for a few days to support and meet a friend who is going through some very challenging things in life.

Bahrain is a modern island state in the Middle East, with a funny mixture of Arabic culture and other cultures. Yes, there are many Arabic people here of course, but there are also a lot of people from India, China, Philippines, and from ‘western’ countries.
Worth a visit in Bahrain is e.g. the ‘Souk’; a shopping area with small shops selling anything from mobile phones to spices.
