Today Monday 15-Feb was my first time to see sharks. What a GREAT experience. Yes, we got lost underwater because we went to ‘open sea’ from the boat with pretty strong current, totally without seeing the bottom, and we had to surface swim for 15 minutes afterwards t

o get back to the boat :-). But so, so cool! We were surrounded by 4+ reef sharks or bull sharks (very difficult to tell difference on 5-10 meters distance) circling around us. For around 15 minutes at 15-20 meters depth. They were VERY curious, and sometimes they sneaked up from behind around 5 meter behind you until they turned around.

They were around 2-3 meters long, but (as they say!!) pretty calm because they have enough other FISH to eat in this area, so they do not go for larger prey. Not a scary experience at all,! even though we were 3 divers totally surrounded by these sharks for very long; and they even followed us and kept circling (while we were getting on the way to the boat). Truly astonishing. Wow! Ok, if they wanted to take a bite, they COULD have, but not afraid at any time; they seemed much more curious than aggressive. Sharks are in my experience so far are very, very calm, and very intelligent, so they only go for a bite when they are desperate. And they are SO beautiful under water. Best dive so far! I am sorry for the pretty bad pictures, but the sharks were pretty far away in water with 10-20 meter visibility, but I am sure you can see it is a shark; and yes, they looked much closer down there; damn close :-)
