Diving every day now

I have been diving almost every day the last days. And the visibility under water is getting better for every day. Even though this is the time of year where all the corals are 'spawning'. Since corals are animals that cannot move, they instead send fountains of sperm and eggs into the water. Which is affecting the visibility quite a lot as a diver... Synchronous spawning is quite typical, since the sperm needs to find some eggs and vice versa. Sometimes the spawning happens at the same night even. If you want to know more about corals follow this Wikipedia link.

Today I had two great dives, one at Lighthouse bay and one at Red Rock drop off. We e.g. saw a bunch of porcupinefishes as well as a turtle which we followed for 10 minutes. Tomorrow I go diving again. In caves ;)

Two days ago, the kitchen at Big Blue caught fire, and the fire was about to spread to the entire resort plus to neighbouring resorts. But a lot of divers and guests were helping to extinguish the fire (which could have gone really bad since the kitchen contained 7-8 large gas tanks). Noone got hurt, and already today the kitchen is cleaned up, a new roof has been made, new material is inserted, so the kitchen re-opened today. You cannot find fire fighters at Koh Tao (not totally true, but they only showed up 30 minutes after the fire was extinguished), but you can rebuild a large kitchen, walls, roofs etc in less than 2 days

Todays photos are from divers getting ready, from (too) many tanks that needed to be carried to our diving boat and from chilling out after the dive... And of course a funny sign
